Kanji's Trading Guide Empty Kanji's Trading Guide

Post  AsukaDyna Sun Jan 16, 2011 11:53 am

THIS is for people who cant find this on front page, you lazy bums!

ALL CREDITS GOES TO KANJIS AND OTHER PEOPLEZ.
ALSO if you add something, i'll tell kanji to add it and i'll edit it, and i tweaked it a bit of the outdated parts.

Hi everybody. This guide was created because I noticed people are asking for bad trades and decided to make a guide to help people learn.Anyway, to do a trade all you have to do is go to setup my battle team and go click on the Pokemon you want to put on trade. After that, go to put on trade center and fill out things on the next page.If you do not want to make a private trade then just leave that box blank.

Now that you know how to make a trade here are some important tips to trading:
Don't make rediculous trades. An example of rediculous trades are things like WTT Magikarp LF GOLDEN HEATRANx55

Don't ask for a rare legend for your bad Pokemon.I saw a bad offer on the Trade Center here where some people were offering something like their starters for a rare legend.Don't do this. The reason why is because nobody would do it and if they are it is because they really want that Pokemon badly or they just want to give their Pokemon away. What are rare Pokemon?Well here's a list of rare Pokemon:
Azelf
Cresselia
Darkrai
Deoxys
Groudon
Heatran
Jirachi
Leafeon
Manaphy
Mothim
Phione
Registeel
What's so special about them?Well, they can only be obtained by trading now. They were originally obtained by using Firebug, but it's patched now.If you want them you need to offer some good Pokemon. One normal rare is probably worth about two golden level 100 Pokemon.A shiny rare is probably worth about two and a golden rare is worth four or five. However, a low level rare legend is worth more. The reason why they are special is because they are more rare than level 100 rares. They are also better for battling if you want to train them because they can learn moves that aren't TMs although that might be a bad reason why they are better. If you do that your rare Pokemon is going to be worse.Only do this if you really just plan on battling. If you want to be a good trade it isn't a good idea to level your low level rare Pokemon.
A normal low level rare is worth five level 100 golden Pokemon while a shiny one is worth at least six and a golden one is worth seven or eight.
Now, if you want to trade rare Pokemon than one rare that is the same type(When I say type I mean normal, shiny, or golden.)is worth only one rare of the same type. However, a Mothim might be worth more. That is because Mothims are the rarest rare Pokemon.I would say a normal level 100 Mothim would be worth two rares and a low level would be worth three or possibly four level 100 rares.
Anyway, for low level rares the lower the level the better it is for trading. So if you have a really low level rare you could get a lot of rare legends for it.
You may be wondering why exactly is a rare Pokemon worth so much.Well it's supply and demand.People want like collecting rares , so there is a demand for rares.
Now, for normal Pokemon they are only worth another normal Pokemon around the same level. If you want to trade your normal for a shiny Pokemon try to have the level of your normal a little bit higher than the shiny Pokemon. If the shiny is level 100 than trade your level 100 normal and maybe some other Pokemon that has a high level to sweeten the trade. For a golden it would probably cost two normal level 100 Pokemon for one level 100 golden.

You should remember that the above isn't always true.Value isn't going to be the same for one person.Someone here might really be desperate for a Pokemon and would be willing to overpay for it.

Now another tip is to be careful when trading multiple Pokemon for a rare Pokemon. It is easy to get scammed when doing this. You can try to get the rare Pokemon first if you're trying to get it, but the guy you're trading with might not want to do that.Try to gain his trust.A way to earn his trust is to try having him talk to people you traded with.Although that might not work.Just try to get trades where you won't be scammed. You could trade with a regular in the forums and chances are they won't scam you.
Now if you do get scammed then the only thing you can do is to send Simon a pm.He might give you your Pokemon back and ban the scammer.

Try to get the price of the Pokemon you want lower and negotiate with the other trader.Try to convince him to lower the price, but don't keep trying to do that for a long time.If you keep making him wait he's probably just going to find someone else to trade with.

If you want to get rare legends easily try to ask them what specific Pokemon the trader wants. If he wants a Magikarp for it get a Magikarp. The value of Pokemon to some people is going to be different.Another easy way to try to get rare legends easily is to get a Mothim.Mothims are highly valued in Indigo and could probably go for two or three rares.Getting a Mothim is hard, but you're going to end up profiting. After you get a Mothim trade it for some rare legends and trade the rare legends besides a few for another Mothim. Then trade the Mothim to another guy with rare legends. If you're patient you might be able to get a lot of rare legends, but the hardest part is getting the Mothim and maybe the first few trades.

Another thing you can do is hoarding Mothims or any rare legends.Hoarding Mothims is probably going to be the best because Mothims are the rarest rare Pokemon. So how exactly does hoarding rare Pokemon good for trading?Well, rare Pokemon are limited and rare, so many people want them.If you have a lot of the rare Pokemon.Your rare Pokemon could be added on maps and your efforts would be useless. So if you plan on hoarding be careful and don't be surprise when your rare is worthless when you wake up the next day.

You can also trade a few of your rare Pokemon for a shiny rare Pokemon and trade your shiny Pokemon back to another person, but you tell the other person to give more rare Pokemon then you gave for the shiny rare, but try to not want too much.

Well there was a topic recently about some guy putting his Suicune in a public trade, but the Pokemon he got was not at the right level. It was below the level he wanted. So if you wanted to setup a trade for something like a Darkrai for Mothim, so you did, but someone somehow traded it for a Pichu, it's a bug.Just tell Simon about it and he might give you your Pokemon back.

Selling Pokemon and buying them is not allowed, so don't even post about it and it is probably never going to be allowed.Simon changed his mind about having a system for this and replaced it with an improved Adoption Center.

Now if you want to know how to easily get your Pokemon to level 100 for trading then read this topic: http://www.pokeyplay.com/comunidad/index.php?showtopic=54010 If you're lazy to read the thing then here's what you just need to do.Add Mac User and fight him. After awhile your Pokemon will need to fight Mac User a few times to gain a level.Your Pokemon should be able to fight dark pika when this happens.Fight dark pika and you will gain a level from one fight again.

Don't overvalue your Pokemon. There was a guy in TF2 who thought his crate is worth a refined.Thinking like this will make people think you are ignorant.Try to figure out the value of your Pokemon.Don't ask for rediculous trades like a Magikarp for an Arceus and say that the guy who doesn't accept the trade is ignorant and does not know how much a Magikarp is worth.

A thing I've been seeing is people responding to old posts in the Trade Center.Guess what? The value of Pokemon changes. Also, did you know that people can quit?Well people can quit Indigo and they actually aren't held against their will to play forever. So stop responding to old posts on the Trade Center. Also, did you know that a Latias was considered rare a long time ago and you could get a Groudon if you trade them?Well guess what happens if you offer to trade a Latias for a Groudon now.

Something you should be careful of is people that want to know your password to see your Pokemon. This might be stupid to even mention here, but there might had been people who are trustworthy like me and got scammed before.I didn't actually get scammed from this, but from a regular trade, but that doesn't matter since private trades is better now and you can see normal, shiny, and golden Pokemon now.Don't tell people your password. No, they aren't going to look at your Pokemon that they want. They will take your account. They also won't give you a Pokemon for being trustworthy and no, they also don't know a cheat or hack to get you a rare legend. There is no cheat or hack for that. The only really useful cheats or hacks is the Rare Candy cheat and the Firebug hack to add to add Diagla, Palkia, Giratina, and Mewtwo in rooms which might had been fixed when the new layout was added.I haven't check the room yet, so I'm not sure. There might be more, but they aren't really that useful. The only game-breaking cheat now is the cheat where you can put Pokemon like Diagla in rooms and it really isn't that great compared to the steal cheats and it really isn't that game-breaking.Compared to the other cheats now it is, but steal cheat is way better.

If you encounter scammers you can try to troll them. This would annoy them and it would stop them from bothering you.If you want to troll someone that is trying to scam you or some noob who thinks you aren't a good trader and posts bad offers for you rares then try to act dumb.Type your pms with extremely horrible grammar.Try to posts extremely bad offers too.Like a level 12 normal Charmander for a level 100 Darkrai and say only level 100 Darkrai and the level can't be lower.Eventually the scammer or guy with bad offers will get tired of you and just leave after being annoyed.

Another thing about scammers is that if they have a normal Pokemon in a private trade and say it's a bug that the Pokemon is normal they are a scammer or they probably didn't know this was changed and you can see normal, shiny, and golden Pokemon in private trades now.If they are unaware of the change then just tell them and if they keep insisting they are either a scammer or they really think Simon never updates the Trade Center.

You also shouldn't trust people who say things like if you let them borrow your Pokemon they will give it back later and reward you with rares. Also, if someone claims to be a mod or something and you would get banned if you don't give them a rare then just laugh at the loser and ignore or troll him.The only person working on the game is Simon and if there was a power hungry mod like that then you should report him instead of actually giving him rares. Also, if someone says he's Simon and he needs your help and you have to give him rares to help you should know what to do.I doubt Simon would be asking people for rares when I'm pretty sure he could just somehow add them to his team.He does have a Smugleaf on his team, so I really doubt he couldn't just get the Pokemon himself.I also know that he had a Regirock back when it was a rare Pokemon, but he could had traded for it.

Something you should do is to wait for 5th gens to come out.I saw a Regigigas being offered for a Zekrom. Now how exactly is that important that someone is offering for a Pokemon that nobody can get?Well, it's clear that you should quickly capture a Zekrom and do the trade, but the problem is you probably aren't going to be the only person to do this. You have to be fast with this and be ready when the 5th gens are added.Use the Pokemon Locater to find the 5th gens quickly. You could probably quickly get a few rares by doing this.

If anyone thinks I should add more things about trading tell me and I'll give you credit.

Meh, I don't really like this guide.I hardly update , but that isn't the problem. The entire guide needs to be reworked entirely. The main problem with the guide is the fact that I'm way too focused on talking about scamming.I'll try to come out with some better guides. The guides I'm planning to right are a trading guide, a scamming guide, and a moveset guide.
